WHO WE ARE
We are a boutique specialist family law firm that is recognised as one of the top family law firms in Queensland. Damien Greer is the principal. He decided to start his own firm after many years as a partner in big multidisciplinary law firms.
We recognise that our people are our most important asset and we are fortunate to have attracted talented lawyers who want to be a part of our team. As a result, our lawyers have the academic qualifications, the high-level skills and the years of experience to be capable of handling whatever family law issue comes our way.
Our emphasis is on expertise. We have 4 accredited specialists in family law. Our lawyers have post graduate qualifications such as a Master’s degree in Law and Taxation Law and they are expected to keep updating their skills and their formal qualifications.
WHAT WE DO
Our focus is on providing clients with high level expert advice on all family law issues. We are able to do this because we have a highly qualified legal team and we work collaboratively so that our clients have the benefit of the input of all team members. Increasingly we are asked to be involved in international family law matters. This includes acting for clients with international family law issues and also providing expert opinion on Australian law to international lawyers and Courts.
WHAT WE OFFER
Preventative family law
We advise on preventative family law. This includes asset protection, business succession planning and preparation of financial agreements. We see this as an increasingly important part of our practice.
Disputative family law
Our more traditional family law practice covers:
- tax and trust issues as they relate to family law;
- acting for third parties in family law disputes
- property division between spouses and partners;
- parenting issues;
- child safety issues;
- international relocation and abduction of children; and
- domestic violence issues
An alternative to court based litigation
We also offer alternative dispute resolution in collaborative practice, mediation and arbitration. These processes are an increasingly important alternative to court.
While our office is based in the Brisbane CBD, we are able to service clients nationally (as well as internationally). If you are unable to physically attend our office, we are happy to hold meetings and consultations over Skype and/or FaceTime. We are also able to travel interstate when necessary (for example, for court appearance or conferences).
Whether you, your ex-partner, your children, or your property and finances are interstate, we are able to assist you with your matter. We have helped clients all over Australia successfully navigate through their family dispute.
