Delays in court process linked to lack of Judges in Family and Federal Circuit Courts

In February this year, the President of the Queensland Law Society reported to the Courier Mail that in the 2015 financial year, the 61 Australian Federal Circuit Court Judges dealt with a staggering 95,241 litigated cases and divorce applications and gave 3,444 written judgments.

The 30 Australian Family Court Trial Judges finalised 20,108 complex applications and gave 647 reserved written judgments.

It is no wonder that this has resulted in massive delays for our client’s in or commencing a court process.

We fully support FLPA’s call on the Federal Government to appoint more Judges with family law expertise to address the current Family Law Courts crisis.
