Damien Greer

Damien Greer Principal

Damien has practised for over 40 years in the Family law and de facto relationship fields. Damien is an Accredited Family Law Specialist, a Mediator and an Arbitrator with extensive knowledge and expertise in all areas of family law. He has a particular interest in complex financial and property settlements and international family law matters.

Damien is consistently recognised by his peers in published reviews as a leader in the field of family law.

Damien was invited to become a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers in 1996, being one of the longest standing Fellows in Australia.

Damien is an appointed expert witness on Australian Family Law before the High Court in the United Kingdom. He has also provided expert trial evidence on Australian Family Law in the United States.

Damien is a regular presenter at legal and other professional seminars, presenting to the International Academy of Family Lawyers on two occasions. He has had numerous articles published both in legal and non-legal publications.

Damien was a partner in a large Brisbane CBD and subsequently national firm for over 40 years before opening his own boutique family law practice where he can focus on his passion of helping clients achieve the best possible results during this very stressful time in their lives.

While consistently being recognised by the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession as a Pre-eminent Family and Divorce Lawyer for a number of years running, Damien has also been recognised as a Leading Family Lawyer in High-Value & Complex Property Matters and Parenting and Children’s Matters.

Wendy Miller

Wendy Miller Special Counsel

Wendy is a highly experienced accredited family law specialist and an accredited family law arbitrator. Her strong preference is to assist clients settle their family law issues in a conciliatory manner through negotiation, mediation, arbitration or through the collaborative law process. However, if litigation is necessary Wendy will take immediate action to protect her client’s position.

Much of Wendy’s work is with financial agreements and the often difficult corporate, trust and tax issues that arise in family law. She also has an interest in contributing the family law component to business and family succession planning.

Wendy is adept at problem solving and strategic thinking to achieve the best outcome for her clients. They can also rely on her to be responsive and easily accessible and rely on her support during those times of high anxiety and stress.

Scott has been practicing law since August 2000 across various jurisdictions including the United Kingdom, Asia, New South Wales, & Tasmania. Specialising in Family Law since 2005 and with a number of years in Criminal defense, Scott brings his passion for the law to the team at Damien Greer Lawyers. Scott is an experienced advocate having represented clients across a spectrum of family law matters in both the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Scott listens carefully to his clients to ensure he understands their concerns, priorities and expectations. Scott combines his extensive professional knowledge with a strong determination to ensure each client achieves the best possible outcome, assisting client’s move forward from what is one of the most stressful and emotional periods of their lives.

Justin Hine

Justin Hine Special Counsel

Justin is an accredited family law specialist and has been working as a lawyer for over 12 years. Justin holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Australian National University.

Prior to commencing practise as a lawyer, Justin was an associate to His Honour Judge Searles in the District Court of Queensland.  As an associate, he gained immeasurable litigation experience which can only be absorbed when immersed in a court room day in, day out.  That experience serves him well in his day-to-day activities.

Justin has practised predominately in Family Law since his admission in 2009, however also has experience in criminal law, wills and estates and personal injuries.  Justin’s experience in a variety of areas of law gives him a greater understanding of the broader issues that can arise in family law matters.

Justin has an interest in property settlement matters, particularly those involving business owners, that often have more complex business structures and require greater analysis and scrutiny of business records and managing the impact of the property settlement on the ongoing operations of the business.  Justin prides himself on achieving the best possible outcome for his clients.

Hannah Daley

Hannah Daley Senior Associate

Since being admitted to practice in 2015, Hannah has practiced exclusively in Family Law. While Hannah practices across all aspects of family law, including parenting and property matters, financial agreements, spousal maintenance and child support issues, she has a particular interest in complex parenting matters.

Having previously worked as Legal Associate to the Honourable Justice Kent in the Family Court of Australia (Appeal Division), Hannah has gained invaluable litigation experience in the family law field while also being acutely aware of the toll high-conflict litigation can take on parties and children. Hannah appreciates the importance of productive negotiations and timely resolution of matters. Hannah is able to offer clients her unique skills in order to assist clients in arriving at an agreement suitable to all, in an amicable, interests based and results driven manner – which is of particular advantage to children of separated families.

Hannah believes that the best and earliest outcomes can be achieved for her clients through a combination of sensitivity and objectivity, through cooperative practice between solicitors and dispute resolution mechanisms such as Mediation, Family Dispute Resolution and Arbitration.

Hannah is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and has been recognised by the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession as a Family Law Rising Star in Queensland for 2022 and 2023.

Joshua Williams Senior Associate

Joshua is an accredited family law specialist and has practised primarily in Family Law, both rurally and in Brisbane since his admission in January 2013.

Joshua enjoys solving client’s problems and in a strategic, methodical and empathetic manner. Although conflict in litigation is, at times, unavoidable – Joshua has been impressed by the great dignity and humanity displayed by some clients in facing and overcoming the challenges that family law proceedings present.

He has a particular interest in complex property matters and financial agreements. He also has a particular interest in complex parenting matters involving elements of both psychiatric and international jurisdictional issues.

Harry McDonald
Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist

Harry McDonald Senior Associate

Harry has practised for more than a decade in family law and de facto relationships. He is a Senior Associate and an Accredited Specialist in Family Law. He spent the first half of his career in Sydney, and has extensive experience litigating a variety of difficult property settlement and parenting matters; experience which he uses to protect clients and their children from the negative impacts of litigation where possible.

Harry has been recognised as a Family Law Rising Star in the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession in 2019 and 2021. He is a trained Collaborative Law Practitioner. He sits on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Practitioner’s Association of Queensland, and has provided pro bono advice at Caxton Legal Centre since 2017.

In property settlement matters, Harry has a strong interest in helping the parties’ resolve their matters in a way that preserves their ongoing business interests and income earning potential. In parenting matters, Harry has extensive experience acting in matters where a party has been charged with related criminal offences, and managing the intersection of criminal law and family law.

Above all, Harry aims to resolve matters in a manner that keeps children squarely in mind.

Carolyn McKenna

Carolyn McKenna Senior Associate

Carolyn was admitted to practice in 2018 and has been practising exclusively in the family law industry as a lawyer and paralegal since 2014, both in Brisbane, Australia and London, UK.

Carolyn has experience across numerous aspects of family law, including parenting matters, property matters, spousal maintenance, Financial Agreements, Child Support Agreements, international parenting matters including relocation, and divorce.

Carolyn has a particular interest in assisting in financial disputes, Financial Agreements and international parenting matters with experience in both English and Australian family law. Carolyn has assisted on numerous high end and complex financial disputes as well as complex parenting matters.

Carolyn is keen to use both her observations and her experience to assist clients in achieving a resolution of their family law matters through a variety of dispute resolution mechanisms such as Mediation and Family Dispute Resolution, and working with clients to navigate their way through their family law issue.

Carolyn is a member of Queensland Law Society, the Family Law Practitioners Association and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and volunteers at Women’s Legal Service Queensland.

Brianna was admitted as a lawyer in December 2020 and has practised exclusively in family law.

Prior to commencing practise as a lawyer, Brianna was a Paralegal at a National law firm assisting her clients through the complexities of Commonwealth and military compensation schemes. Since beginning her career in the Brisbane legal industry in 2010, Brianna has been driven by the desire to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients. Tyson Flamsteed Lawyer

Tyson joined our team as 2021 and was admitted as a lawyer in June 2023. Since working in the industry, Tyson has been involved in almost exclusively family law, primarily in the sphere of divorce, parenting and financial disputes.
